Sigmatex Celebrates 30th Anniversary
Sigmatex, the world’s leading independent converter of carbon fibre, this week is proud to celebrate its 30th anniversary. In 1986 founders David Ehnimb and Bert White set out with a vision to supply quality carbon fibre textiles for composite material applications to the Aerospace and Automotive industry.
Over the past 30 years, Sigmatex has turned that vision into a reality and has established itself as a world leading innovator in technical textiles. With 10% of its workforce dedicated to Research and Development activities, Sigmatex pioneers in new products of its kind and now boasts a wide portfolio of textiles including standard 2D and 3D, Multiaxial, Unidirectional, Spread Tow and Recycled.

From humble beginnings in Cheshire, Sigmatex now boasts a global manufacturing presence with manufacturing sites based in Runcorn, Rochdale, Benicia (CA), Orangeburg (SC) and Shanghai (China) and employs over 250 people worldwide. Sigmatex regards its independence as a fundamental attribute that enables it to advise its customers on what is the best solution for their requirements. Sigmatex offer a variety of technologies and source carbon fibres if from all of the world’s major producers.
Sigmatex converts massive quantities of carbon fibre each year to a range of industries including Aerospace, Automotive, Construction, Defence, Marine and Sports and Leisure. Sigmatex’s carbon fibre textiles are utilised by some of the world’s top supercar manufacturers, to reputable aerospace companies amongst many others.
